Tim's Story

My Medilink Journey

In 1999, Tim was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis which was kept under control through medication and diet changes.
When Tim became ill in 2019, a colonoscopy discovered a tumour inside his back passage. Two surgeons from Tim’s local hospital performed a total pelvic exenteration, removing his large bowel, bladder, prostate gland, rectum and anus. Tim now has two stomas: a urostomy and an ileostomy.
